Hello and welcome to another episode of my podcast. I am Hayley, and I am very, very excited to be in your ears today. I hope that you’ve had the most amazing day so far. Wherever you are listening, this is episode 149 and today I want to talk about seven ways to up level your marketing game, because I think we all need a bit of a check in, right? And if you are lacking a little bit this year in your marketing game. I’ve got seven things that I think that you should be doing, like offer the cusp, offer the batch straight away, to up level your marketing game, because we’re here for a good time, not a long time. And you know, you get one shot at business.
And so you know, if you’re not going all in with your marketing, why not? Okay, that is the question that I’d like to ask you is, why not? It’s the most important thing that you’re doing right now, because you want your business to grow right and it’s not going to grow if you’re at a standstill, and it’s not going to grow if you continue to do what you’ve always done. So it’s time to up level. So I wanted to talk to you about seven ways to uplevel your marketing game. What’s the difference between a business that has all their marketing figured out and you?
The only difference between them and you is that they have the right marketing foundations in place to be able to grow their business with ease. All right? So no second guessing, no making stuff up, no flying blind and achieving really big results in the process, because they’ve lent in and learn how to upskill themselves, and it doesn’t need to be hard, and that’s where I get to show you and step in and guide you every step of the way. And I think being the superhero in your business really takes knowing where to start, okay, persistence to get there, and a real consistency to create the right marketing mix that works for you.
Okay, what works for you doesn’t necessarily work for somebody else that might be doing the same thing that you’re doing. And through our monthly coaching calls, this is what we look at. Okay, so I am here in your back pocket as your awesome superhero, fearless leader to guide you and show you and answer lots of questions that you have in this space to grow your business. So I have built this to be able to show you the simplest and step by step way to be able to bring my proven strategies to life using, like I said, my templates, my guys, my copywriting, my Canva templates and methods to be able to work to your advantage.
Because why spend, like, 100 hours researching on the internet when all you have to do is jump in with everything that I have that will show you exactly how to do it, and if not, ask me, we have the best community and a beautiful group of active members where, you know, no question is a silly one. I am here to help you. I want to see you grow. When you grow, I grow. And I think this is a space where you There is definitely no overwhelm, and I think just the word marketing can be very overwhelming, and strategy and sales and all those words, and it’s my job to help break that down for you in layman’s terms so you can understand how it is going to best serve you to grow your business, because we’re not here for a haircut. So I think ask yourself, this, is this you?
And don’t kid yourself, okay. Do you want clarity and knowledge around what activities to do in your business? Do you want a successful business with multiple activities and touch points all raising awareness of your business? That’s marketing, right? Do you want the tools to be able to do it yourself? Yes, okay. Do you want the increased knowledge to understand why these things are important? 100% knowledge is power, and no one can ever take that away from you. And you know this is for you if you’re ready to do something more than what you’re currently doing, to reach more people with the least amount of time and effort.
And you know, when it comes to growing your business, things I think need to change. And I say all the time, you’re not here for a haircut. So I think, one, you’re unsure of what to do to take your business to the next level. Two, you know things need to change because you’re busy, but nothing is working. And three, you know things need to change because you want an action plan so that this marketing stuff is easy. And I think you need to ask yourself, how will you feel when you get clear on what you need to do, which will give you the biggest growth with the least amount of time and effort in your business? And I think that sounds pretty nice.
And I also want you to ask yourself, if you’re ready for big things, right? So the answer is yes. Otherwise you would not be listening to my podcast, and it’s probably, you know, it’s okay if you’re confused about what your marketing foundations are. It’s okay if you’re feeling overwhelmed on how fast the digital space is moving, because it is, especially with the wake of AI, and how fast all these platforms have come up. And I get it, and it’s okay if you’re unsure because you have no marketing structure, you will be surprised.
The number of businesses that I work with that have no marketing structure is absolutely incredible, but that’s what I’m here for, right? To be able to help you. And I think you know, do you second guess yourself when you’ve got an inquiry that comes in? It doesn’t have to be that way, right? Imagine how it would feel to be able to be clear on your marketing foundation. So when someone like me says, do you have your marketing foundation set up? You’ll be like, yeah, yeah. Hayley, whoo, yes, I do. And then how would you feel to be able to have clarity on how to do things and not just why and what you should be doing?
Because there’s a lot of that out there. And so I’m going to, I show you how, okay, and then, you know, to be able to have the confidence to take action, because that’s a massive one. Because a lot of the time I find it’s, you know, not through lack of wanting to show up, but it’s more lack of confidence to be able to show up. And so I think knowledge is. Power. And when you have the knowledge that you need to be able to show up with a bit of strategy, then I think that confidence builds, and it only builds because you are showing up.
And then, you know, it’s nice to feel excited about the opportunities that you’re creating by showing up. I think that’s incredible. And then, you know, it’s nice to also feel energized in your business knowing that your digital footprint is in complete alignment. And I love this so much. So to follow through with that, today, I wanted to talk about seven ways to up level your marketing game, because I want to see you win. I want to see you grow. Because you know I know how hard it is to be running a small business, to be wearing all the hats, to be wanting to grow to not knowing, like, you know, to take one step back and to one step forward and a few steps back because you know something goes wrong, or you have three babies. And so I want to help you to be able to grow. So the first one I want to talk about is branding. And so I think that if you can have a look across the board on all of your branding and either modernize it or update your colors, or by updating, modernizing, modernizing your fonts and having it more consistent, I think that is the very first thing that you need to look at.
Okay, so when someone looks at your website, when they look at your Facebook, your Instagram, your LinkedIn, your ex, whatever that is, are you singing the same song? Does your branding align with one another? Is your language the same? Is your imagery? Is that all updated? Does it look similar? And I don’t just mean pictures of you, I mean like infographics, or whatever that is. Is it all the same? Is your branding so shit hot and modern, that it is a vibe and that it is magnetic? Or is it outdated and old? Okay? So if that’s the case, it might be time to look at your branding, and that is the very first and most amazing thing that you can do to up level your marketing game.
Take your audience along for the ride. They love a good restyle, okay, whether that’s a brand or whether that is a. Look at your look. I mean, we all love a good makeover. So branding, rebrand, makeover. Let’s do it. The second one is consistency. Okay, so I think that consistency is everything, and you know, slowly and steadily win the race. Okay, so you can’t go two weeks without posting and then post five days in a row.
That’s not consistent. Consistency is a solid four to five posts every single week to your audience, to show up, to share your zone of genius, your knowledge. Okay, when you are consistent, you build that know, like and trust, and that is the second most powerful way to be able to up level your marketing game. It’s hard to be consistent, and that’s why everybody doesn’t do it. But if you’ve got a strategy in place, then it is so much easier to be consistent, okay, because the strategy is like your Bible that you refer back to over and over and over again.
Okay, the third thing I wanted to talk about is knowledge. Okay, knowledge is a surefire way to uplevel yourself, and therefore your marketing game. When you grow your knowledge, your business grows because you become better. And so as a Segway, that is why I built superhero marketing, to be able to help you to grow your knowledge. Okay, I’m going to need a little drink because I am very parched. And, yeah, knowledge is power, and I think I’ve said that time and time again, but I think you know, when you the more knowledge you have, no one can ever take that away from you, and the more you’re able to activate on what you know you your business is going to, going to grow, and it’s, it’s my mission to be able to continue to create a superhero community of business owners who bring their ideas to life with ease, who tell their stories to their community like no other to know exactly where to position these ideas in a busy world.
Make some serious money for yourselves in the process. And love what you do, okay? The next one is followed up. Okay, so I want you to ask yourself, do you have a follow up strategy? And if you don’t, that is one beautiful way to be able to uplevel your marketing game, and one that’s really important, because if someone has reached out to you, how do you follow up? How do you know, because we’re busy, right? We forget things, and when someone prompts you, just think about you as a consumer.
If somebody prompts you on something, are you grateful that they’ve prompted you? Because you know, for me, I’m busy, or I’ve got my children, I’ve got my business, I’ve got different demands, left, right and center, that I forget things. It is impossible to retain lots of information and so, you know, they’re written down. I’ve got systems and processes in place. But when I’m prompted, if I’ve reached out, I think that’s such a beautiful, beautiful way to remind people of, you know, what it is that you’re doing, what it is that you’re offering. Hey, did you remember I sent you that quote for X, Y and Z? What were your thoughts? Don’t just let it go.
There is power in the follow up, okay, the 1234, the fifth thing I wanted to talk about, if you haven’t already done it, to completely up level your marketing game is Install the Facebook pixel on your website. If you have not done this yet, I want to give you a slap on the wrist, because this is the most beautiful and powerful way to manage your audience and grow new audiences to target to and retarget to. And I’m talking about through Facebook ads, alright, through meta-advertising. So if you don’t have the pixel on your website, pop it in. If you don’t know how, I would love to welcome you into the membership superhero marketing.
There are guest experts that have taught. There are a fair few master classes in there on SEO, so search engine optimization and Google advertising and Facebook advertising, and so come in and learn everything for yourself. Okay, the sixth one I want to talk about, and I’ve just done a bunch of this, is to invest in fresh brand content. So. What that means is you need to get yourself a new photo shoot, baby, because it’s nice and fresh and it gives you something new to talk about, and it adds a pep in your step.
Okay, fresh, branded content is the most up to date version of you that people can relate to. Alright, so you and your face, as it is right now, is following people around the internet. And I think that’s really awesome, and such a great way to up level your marketing. Because right now, if you’ve got long hair and your photos are when you had short hair, then there’s a disconnect. If, you know, if I had the pictures still circulating on my website, pre having children, I’m a totally different person now, okay, I’ve matured. Like my hair is still crazy, but I’m older and like that needs to be reflective in my images. I think that, like, I’m way better now than what I was then, and just my knowledge, and I don’t know, like, the confidence grows the more you have fresh branded content, and that just oozes through your face. The seventh thing I want to talk about that’s really important is emails.
Okay, so if you have not started sending your database regular emails, now is the time for you to start email marketing. My friends are a gold mine, and if you think that this is hard to fit in your week, maybe it’s something you need to batch All right, so something like planning a couple of months in advance is pretty awesome. And I think that if you are not sending out regular emails, I think you’re also losing out on valuable leads.
I think that’s really important. It’s such a powerful tool to be able to add your voice and your personality into words and connect with your warm audience. Because we do know that. You know, over on social media, it’s a really cold audience, okay? And even on this podcast, I don’t know exactly who is listening to this podcast, but I do know that you’re awesome, because otherwise you wouldn’t be listening to it. But I do know who’s getting my emails and who’s opening them and who’s unsubscribed. I see all of that every single week.
It’s my most favorite, favorite, favorite thing to do is to look at those stats. Okay, so you can add a personal touch, and I do that, and I absolutely love it. So if you’re on my email list, you know a hell of a lot more about me than what people would on my social media. It’s just the way it is. It’s my warm audience. I love them. And so I think if you are not doing that, that is the last piece of the puzzle to up level your marketing game. If you are thinking, oh my goodness, I am not nurturing anyone, I have email scripts in the back of the membership, ready to go, for you, to plug and play, to start a nurture sequence in you for your people in your world.
Okay, so I think that you know you can segment your audiences’ heaps of things you can do with emails, but I’m not going to overwhelm you with that, but just start and start nurturing them once a week is nothing to send out an email. Alright? It is nothing. I think, look, it’s my most favorite thing, and that’s why I left it till last. If you are not nurturing your email list, now is the time to do it, even if you have a small list. Okay? I started somewhere too. Alright. So they’re the seven things, seven ways to up level your marketing game. I’ll just run them through again. One is branding. Two is consistency. Three is knowledge. Four is the follow up.
Five is installing the Facebook pixel on your website. Six is investing in fresh branded content of yourself, and seven is emails. And that’s all today, guys, and I’ll just leave you with final thoughts on superhero marketing. Doors are opening on the first of April. Yes, it is happening. I’m very excited. I want to bring you into my world. I have not opened the doors this year, and I haven’t for the last eight plus months more, it’d be about 12 months. I’d say little under 12 months.
