Your messaging – WOW this is HUGE guys. If not the biggest thing in your business, because that is where your audience will interact with you from the get-go.
Your messaging is one of the most important aspects of your business. It can make or break your marketing efforts, and it can determine whether or not you connect with your target audience which is why I wanted to take you through 10 specific reasons as to why your messaging is so powerful and get you thinking more seriously, if you’re not already about really nailing your messaging to attract your dream client.
When you get this right, you’re left with very little to do in order to have those dream clients wanting to work with you.
1. The WHY – (your messaging is so imporant)
The way you communicate with your audience can literally make or break your business. It’s the cornerstone of authenticity and what your audience are drawn to. And in today’s competitive marketplace, gorgeous messaging that represents you is essential for success. Gone are the days where we as consumers want to see roboticized messaging and super “brandy” stuff. We want the real deal and nothing short of authentic. The good news is that there are some simple things you can do to improve your messaging and communication.
First, make sure your message is clear and concise. Who you are, the problem you solve and the transformation you provide.
Second, use language that is easy to understand.
And third, be sure to proofread your messages before sending them into the big wide world for everyone to see.
By following these super simple tips, you can be sure you are on the right track.
2. Positivity – The power of positive messaging
Positivity is everything.
The power of the transformation is everything.
People are drawn to you because of your energy and your positivity and it’s your job to radiate this throughout your messaging. Through your words.
Research has shown that by focusing your biz messaging on the transformation you provide and the feeling behind this that your audience will get as the outcome to what you provide as a business is second to none.
3. The importance of staying on message
We’re competing with a STACK of messages out in the world. Just think about when you get in your car to go somewhere…there is always a billboard, bus shelter or shop’s advertising that you’re faced with on your journey from A-B.
With so many sources of information competing for our attention, it’s easy to get side-tracked
But if we want our messaging to have cut through and be successful, we need to focus on the task at hand and stick to your strategy. Something I teach my members inside Superhero Marketing, my membership.
That means being clear about our goals, staying focused on what’s important, and avoiding distractions. It can be difficult to stay on message all the time, but it’s essential if we want to achieve our objectives.
So next time you’re feeling overwhelmed, take a step back and ask yourself: What is the one thing I need to do right now? AND, am I always referring back to my messaging.
4. The art of storytelling in marketing
Very simply put, a good story connects with your audience on an emotional level, creating a bond between you, the storyteller and your audience which is the one person reading whatever you’re putting out there.
And when it comes to marketing guys, this bond can be incredibly powerful. After all, people are more likely to remember a story than they are a list of facts or statistics.
What’s more, a well-told story can actually change the way people think and behave. In other words, stories have the power to influence people’s purchasing decisions. So if you want your marketing to be truly effective, don’t underestimate the importance of storytelling.
A famous quote I love to use when it comes to storytelling is:
Selling on social media is like throwing water balloons at a porcupine. It’s all in the art of the storytelling.
5. Why emotion matters in marketing messages
Emotion is one of the most powerful forces in marketing. It has the ability to persuade, influence, and lead people to purchase products or services. And yet, I see so many business owners overlook the importance of emotion in their messages. More often than not, I see those I mentor and coach being so close to their messages, they just can’t see them for what they are anymore.
Ignoring emotion can be a costly mistake. Emotion is a powerful tool that can add depth and meaning to your businesses marketing messages.
When we use our words effectively, they can connect with customers on a deeper level and create a lasting impression. By understanding the role that emotion plays in marketing, you, the business owner can create messages that are more likely to resonate with your audience in a far greater capacity than anything salesy. Salesy is dead and gone in the water as far as I’m concerned.
6. The role of urgency and scarcity in marketing messages
Business owners and marketers have long used the principles of urgency and scarcity to drive sales and encourage customer loyalty. The basic idea is simple: if a product is in high demand and low supply, customers will be more likely to buy it. This is often achieved by creating a sense of urgency, such as limited-time offers and discounts. Scarcity can also be created by artificially limiting the supply of a product, like through exclusive release dates or VIP access. When communicated cleverly through our messages, this can be done with authenticity and so much appeal. The key here is to be genuine in your approach, or this does not work. People can sniff bull shit a mile away.
7. Creating a call to action that gets results
A call to action is an essential element of any effective marketing campaign. It is the moment when a potential customer is asked to take a specific, desired action, such as making a purchase, signing up for a newsletter, or downloading a white paper.
A well-crafted call to action can be the difference between successful messaging and those that fall flat. So how can you create a call to action that gets results?
There are a few key elements that I think we as business owners need to keep in mind.
First, your call to action should be clear, concise, and easy to understand. Not run of the mill, think outside the box and the more on brand the better. Get creative. “Shop now” can be said in a much more clever way when putting your mind to it.
Second, your call to action should be relevant to your target audience. It should address their needs and desires.
Third, your call to action should be motivating. It should offer a compelling reason for your target audience to take the desired action.
Fourth, your call to action should be visually appealing. It should be attention-grabbing and visually appealing so that it stands out from the rest of your messaging.
8. Harnessing the power of great messaging
It’s time for you to be clear about exactly what you do, why you do it and how it benefits your customers. This can be difficult to achieve, but it’s essential in order for you to stand out from the competition and attract new awesome people into your repertoire.
Within my membership Superhero Marketing I’ve dedicated a whole month to this as even though it sounds the simplest, it can often be the hardest to nail and get right. Often, we don’t nail it the first time, it takes knuckling down and putting pen to paper to answer a specific set of questions to get the best outcome possible. Questions I strategically set out within the membership, so it makes this process a whole lot easier.
I really hope I’ve inspired you to think about the messaging on your website and ask yourself if it sounds aspirational, are you telling a story as opposed to selling, does it still fit with your personality, does it take you on the same journey your brand is moving towards?
Lots to think about, but all super powerful to help you become the number 1 in your local community both online and surrounding areas.
