Let’s get straight into today’s episode hey, and the power of authentic connections & HOW it’s helped me in business.
Authentic connections are everything! In life and in business. But I am here to talk to you today about those in business. You know when you just vibe with someone…you want to be in their world and either do business with them, learn from them or just work with them in some way shape or form. That is an authentic connection.
I’m going to take you through the:
- Importance and benefits
- Challenges
- How to
- Power
- AND – why they really matter
The power of these authentic connections in business is often underestimated AND more often than not, we’re too lazy to seek them out. Too lazy to put in the hard work required to build and form those connections. We live in a world that is increasingly digital, and it can be easy to forget just how nice, lovely, warm and fuzzy the authentic human connection really is.
Great people want to help great people. It’s just how we’re wired. Like attracts like and it’s just the vibrations of the universe. Pretty nice hey! Or did you forget?
Did you also know: research has shown that taking the time to build authentic connections can have a significant impact on both our personal and professional lives.
The importance of authentic connections in business
In today’s business world, it’s more important than ever to make authentic connections. With the advent of social media and other online platforms, it’s easier than ever to reach out to potential customers and clients.
However, it’s also easy to get lost in the shuffle. To get lost in the scroll and slide. To stand out, it’s important to create genuine connections with your audience. This means taking the time to get to know them and their needs and tailoring your message accordingly.
It also means being transparent and honest in your interactions. When you make an effort to create authentic connections, you build trust and credibility with your audience.
Trust and credibility are everything!!!
As a result, they’re more likely to do business with you, recommend you to others, and become lifelong fans. It’s that “know, like, trust” factor”.
The challenges of authentic connections in business
In the fast-paced world of running your business, it can be super difficult to slow down and make meaningful connections with others.
I get it. With deadlines to meet, people to not disappoint and projects to complete, many people find themselves retreating into their own work and failing to connect with the people around them.
However, making authentic connections is essential for both personal and professional success. When we take the time to connect with others, we build trust, gain perspective, and deepen our understanding of the world around us.
Authentic connections also help to create a sense of community and improve our overall well-being.
How to create authentic connections
In any business setting, it’s important to start building those relationships with the people you interact with daily. Be it at a in real life networking event, over the gram, or virtual networking event.
I know I have made so many friends over Instagram as well as in business groups I am part of, not to mention with all the business owners inside my membership, Superhero Marketing.
It makes for a complete “ease of transaction” and ease of doing business. Which leaves you space to use your full thinking brain to work on other things. This part, becomes effortless, as those connections you nurture become your biggest business cheerleaders and want to see you do well and will support you in your efforts. Which let me tell you, feels mighty lovely to have people have your back.
BUT:
You gotta put in the work. The end. The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary. An old saying but a good one. Because it’s so true.
But in today’s fast-paced, digital world, it can be difficult for us business owners to create authentic connections especially if we are a one-man band! Just another thing to do right!!
Here are a few of my tips to help you build genuine relationships in business:
- Make an effort to get to know those you want in your world on a personal level. Take the time to learn about their interests, hobbies, and families.
- Be genuine in your interactions.
- Seek out opportunities to collaborate and learn from others. Building a foundation of trust will make it easier to work together effectively.
- Be yourself! People can tell when you’re not being genuine, so don’t try to be someone you’re not. Just be yourself, and the rest will fall into place.
The power of authentic connections in business
It’s easy to get caught up in the transactional side of things.
Also very easy to slide into viewing all our dealings as numbers on a spreadsheet, rather than as actual human beings.
However, research has shown that taking the time to build authentic connections, without thinking about the bottom line, actually increases your bottom line. One is a bi-product of the other and today, our customers can sniff BS a mile away. Being genuine and showing up as yourself is where it’s at.
Bottom line:
When we feel connected to others, we’re more likely to trust them and want to work with them. We’re also more likely to engage in helpful behaviour and experience positive emotions.
So next time you’re tempted to treat someone like a transaction, take a step back and try to establish a connection instead. You might just be surprised at the difference it makes.
Why authentic connections matter now more than ever before
Life has become so fast paced and in a hurry. Because of this, it can be easy to lose sight of the importance of authentic human connection. We may find ourselves spending more time interacting with screens than with the people around us, and while there are many advantages to tech, it is important to remember that nothing can replace the value of face-to-face interaction.
When we connect with others authentically, we’re able to build trust, share our feelings and experiences, and create lasting bonds. In a world that is often filled with uncertainty, these connections provide a much-needed sense of stability and support.
Also, authentic connections provide us with an opportunity to see the world from another person’s perspective and to grow as individuals. At a time when the world seems more divided than ever before, authentic human connection is more important than ever before.
By reaching out and connecting with others, we can help to make the world a little bit brighter.
As a summary:
- Importance and benefits
- Challenges
- How to
- Power
- AND – why they really matter
There are so many reasons authentic human connection is important.
It can help us build trust, share our feelings and experiences, create lasting bonds and provide us with an opportunity to see the world from another person’s perspective.
So next time you’re tempted to treat someone like a transaction, take a step back and try to establish a connection instead. You may be surprised at the difference it makes.
I really hope I’ve inspired you to think about the authentic connections you’ve made and are making in your business.
