Hello, my beautiful friends and welcome to another episode of The Hayley Osborne Show. I’m Hayley and I am so glad you’re here. This is episode 68.
The 5 main areas you need to smash out of the ballpark to build your small business
I want to give a shout-out to a new small business cheat sheet I’ve made. It’s not just any old cheat sheet. However, it’s specifically for small businesses. So if you have a small business, then this is for you.
One thing I found that has kept coming up over and over with my private coaching clients and inside my membership is small business owners do not understand exactly what they need to be including and doing within their Instagram account to have it fully optimised. Often more times than not you are so close to your business and your social media that you can’t see the forest through the trees. You just can’t see what it needs anymore. This is super common. But don’t worry. I got you.
This cheat sheet is FREE, and it covers exactly what you need on your business’s Instagram account to optimise the bejeezus out of it, what works and what you should be including.
It’s my Small Business Instagram Cheat Sheet and you can grab it over at http://www.hayleyosborne.com. You can’t miss it. It’s right at the top of my website.
What this covers are things like what you should include in your Instagram bio so it’s optimised, your account name, how to optimise the posts at the top of your Instagram page, aesthetics, reels and so much more. It’s a short, punchy cheat sheet to get you to appear to the 2.35 billion monthly active users as optimal as you possibly can.
The 5 main areas you need to smash out of the ballpark to build your small business
1.Agility
The sands underneath small businesses have shifted quickly and the future remains hard to pin down. With that we have had to become very energetic in the way we show up, market, talk and write.
As business owners, we need to remain agile as things move quickly in the digital world.
To remain agile jump on the new trends, learn quickly, stay educated and keep upskilling yourself. Remember to keep your energy up.
2. Speed
Speed and agility move hand in hand. Small business owners need to move fast to stay on top of how quickly things change.
Keep up to date with the speed of tech, and use your speed to learn how to use things like artificial intelligence- Jasper and Chat GPT are great examples. Learn them quickly so you can stay up to date with the speed of how technology is changing and what changes are happening on social media platforms Instagram, Facebook, and Linkedin.
Build your database quickly and consistently. The speed at which you do this will be the speed at which your business grows. Building your database quickly means coming up with clever ways to market your business. Do this through lead magnets, irresistible offers, and freebie opt-ins. This helps capture names and email addresses to build your database.
Reminder – We don’t have control over social media platforms so when they are outages we still need ways to communicate with our customers so having that database is so important.
3. Simplicity and ease
I know you, as a Small business owners wear many hats but it’s how you convey your message and tell your story with simplicity and ease that matters. If you can’t convey who you are and what you do to your audience then how do we expect them to know what you do?
Storytelling matters as a business owner. You need to master the art of storytelling in order to convey your message. When you convey your message, then people in your audience begin to know you, like you and trust you. When they trust you, they buy from you. Trust builds loyalty and loyalty builds sales.
4. Consistency
Consistency with a plan will help you very quickly build your business. Social media is a marathon, not a sprint. You cannot say that you have done it for a month and nothing has changed. If you’re serious about building your business, you’re looking at six to twelve months before you start to resonate with your audience.
Your audience needs to see your content 22 times in order for them to consider you. Consistency is everything in this space.
If you have content fatigue, then it’s time to invest in upskilling to help you be more creative in your business. I teach this in membership, I help extract different stories out of businesses and then the businesses start to build this into their marketing. When you have more ideas, you’re more consistent.
5. Systems and processes
New level different devil. As you grow your business, your business needs more of you and it needs systems and processes. You can have different things automated within your business. You’ve got all of the pillars set up to help you streamline your business.
From the way you onboard your clients, your Facebook ad set-up, and the way you send out regular emails all of those systems and processes count. Fine-tune the way that you do things because the more fine-tuned you are, the bigger your business grows and the less stressed you will be.
I share some great ideas on how to improve your systems and processes in my membership not only for business but for in your personal life too.
One recommendation to get you started is to turn your notifications off on certain apps on your phone so you are less distracted throughout the day and also can be more present with your family and friends without the feeling of having to check your notifications.
To recap this the five main areas you need to focus on to build your business are:
- Agile
- To have Speed, the speed at which you respond is everything
- Simplicity and Ease
- Consistency
- Systems and Processes
This is hard to master but I have so many tools inside the membership that will help you.
