Hello, and welcome back to the podcast, The Hayley Osborne Show. I am so glad that you are here today, listening to me again for another episode. This is episode 203 and if you’ve been following and listening along for a while, you know now that I just get straight into it, because I know that you don’t have bucket loads of time for me to ramble on your ears, and neither do I. And I’m here to teach you things, I’m here to educate you, to up level your knowledge, I’m here to inspire you to do better in your business, and hopefully I’m here along the way to entertain you a little bit and make you smile with my antics and my banter, so here we are today. I want to talk about the businesses that grow the fastest, make time and space to think.

Okay, and this episode is off of the back of some beautiful things that I’ve been doing with clients in my business, and that is why I wanted to bring it to you, so that I can teach you as well, because that’s what I do. I take things and that I learn through the weeks, and I make a note of them, and then I come in and teach you those things that I have then learned and passed on to my clients as well, because there are light bulb moments, you know, when you’re working with lots of different business owners every single week, you do pick up the commonalities of problems, issues, little thorns in, you know, business owners’ sides, and it’s important that I share them with you, because you know knowledge is power, and when you know, when you know what you, when you know the things that you didn’t know before, you have the power to make changes that you didn’t think were possible, and so that’s my job.

|So, anyway, we digress. Hello, welcome. I’m Hayley, for those of you that are new here. But today’s episode is something that I feel very passionate about, which is creating the space that you need to think, and I want to inspire you to create some white space in your week at some point to think more about high-level strategy things, and how you can improve your business, because I truly believe that this is one of the biggest reasons, or one of the biggest defining factors that separate the businesses that continue to grow, evolve, and confidently step into their next level, versus those that stay in the same spot.

Okay, they’re the ones that create space to think, and I know it sounds really simple, and yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever, but it is extremely powerful, and I’ve just come off the back of hosting a VIP day, actually, with an incredible business, and one of the biggest things that stood out to me throughout the day was that they already had amazing ideas, and they already have beautiful expertise and years of it, and a passion like no other with what they do, and they’re really amazing, but what they needed was space, space to step away from being really busy in their business to be able to zoom out and have that periscope view of what their business currently looks like, and where they want to make it grow, and what fire they want to light underneath that, so that it explodes into their next level, but they give them self-space to zoom out, space to think strategically about what kind of business they’re building and where the gaps are, and I think that’s really important, and I think that’s something that so many business owners rarely give themselves that opportunity, and I think when you’re so close to your business you can’t see it anymore, and it does take an outside person to look at the business and provide suggestions, and what they usually are a light bulb moments, and I’ve been there myself, and I found that, you know, we spend so much time inside of our day to day ops, and we tend to lose, I think, connection to the bigger picture.

Okay, and that can sometimes look like, why did we start in the first place, or it can sometimes look like, holy shit, Batman, like I didn’t see this thing right in front of me, and that was kind of the moment that I had. So, about four years ago, I was working with a coach, and they said to me, Hayley, you should really look at solely working with health business owners, health brands, and I was like, oh, I can’t do that, because what about everybody else? Like, I’m a brand manager.

Okay, I’m a marketer, I can help everybody. And they said, but looking at your current portfolio, most of these businesses are actually health brands, they’re health professionals, and I was like, oh, I don’t feel comfortable. Anyway, lo and behold, uh. Four years later, here we are, and I am standing with that hat on and owning it, because I realized that they were right, but it took me a long time to realize that, and what’s happened as a result of that is my business is growing, and it was always there, and I was always doing it, I just wasn’t niching in and talking about it, and now, holy hell, I’m so glad I did, because those businesses that were attracted to me organically before are obviously still in my world, but a lot more businesses have come into my world that are health brands, because I’m talking about it more, and because I’m good at it, and people see the value, and I think that’s really important.

So that happened to me, and I think that we rarely give ourselves the opportunity to be able to think strategically and step into that space away from our desk, because we spend a lot of time in the ops, and we know how much work there is to do, and I think when we start to lose sight as business owners and founders, especially in the health space, of the bigger picture, it can run away from us very quickly, especially with the shape of AI at the moment, and how things are moving, and I know that you know you are smart because you wouldn’t be doing what you’re doing if you weren’t.

You’ve spent years studying, and now you’re running a business and doing what you love, but eventually, like, you will get burnt out with the one on one, and you’ve got to figure out a better way. And I think that this is a nice place to start, so your day doesn’t continuously be filled with emails, client work, you know, creating content that’s not moving the needle, lots of notifications, team management, and then decision making at some point in your day.

I don’t know how you do it, and also the energy that you give out to your clients, because you are helping them feel better, healthier, more empowered, walk tall, taller, reducing aches and pains, like whatever, that whatever area you are practicing in the health space, but I guarantee you’re not spending much time on your marketing, or if you are, it’s kind of just like a slap dash approach, so I think after a while, when you operate at this pace, and you know this full speed just becomes your normal, it’s.. it can be quite fatiguing, and then you kind of fall in heat, and I say this with so much love, because I have experienced it myself, and there’s been so many seasons in my business over the last eight years where everything’s moved very quickly, and I realized that I needed to create some more room for clarity, for big picture thinking and strategy, and that’s what got me here, and I’ve done it lots of times, and I’ve done it while growing three humans over the last few years, and having babies, and you know, caring for them when they’re so tiny, and I’ve continued to think strategically.

So one of the biggest mindsets shifts I think that I’ve had is being able to understand that, and this happened a few years ago, when you create the space away from your desk and away from your business. It’s one of the most productive things you can do, because clarity and stillness and the quietness out of the day-to-day noise creates momentum. So it’s kind of like taking 10 steps forward, two steps back, eight steps forward, four steps back, and you’re kind of still moving forward, but you’re doing it in a, in a, in a different way. And when you create space to think, you start to see things differently, and that’s just the way it is.

And I think that you’ll notice what creates growth and what creates and can create energy, and what’s ready to evolve, and you’ll notice what can be simplified, that’s a really big one, and then you’ll notice the things that you need to give more focus, and the things maybe that are ready to move on, so pieces and parts of your business that you can very well leave behind, and when, where there are more opportunities that are coming up, and so then suddenly the business starts to make sense again, and when we’re in the day to day, sometimes the your business can get left behind, so you up level your knowledge and you up level your skills and you do all the things in your field, but your business stays here, and then you all of a sudden are so far disconnected and removed from your business that again you can’t see it anymore, and you’re like, How come I can’t show up? How come I can’t be consistent in my marketing? Well, because you haven’t. Done any work in that space to be able to just jump online and show up.

Okay, so what your next level requires is actually some space, and it’s not continuing to carry that mental load that you have, because you’re constantly operating at ground level, and you’re in the business, and you’re doing all the things instead of giving yourself that opportunity to think strategically, and that’s one of the reasons that environment and your environment matters so much to me, especially because, for example, when I host my VIP days, I intentionally create them in really beautiful high vibe spaces, because I truly believe that your environment shapes the way that you think, the way that you feel, and the way that you create, and I know this for a fact, because I’ve seen it firsthand in creating that for my clients, and the energy in the room matters, the space matters, how you feel matters, the food that you have during the day matters, because you know, brain fog is everything, and that’s not an option for me.

And when you step into environments with intention and environments that are intentionally designed for clarity and expansion, something shifts. It’s such a beautiful thing, and you breathe differently, you think differently, and you begin seeing the possibilities that are available to you more clearly, and that is a vibe that is such a vibe, because we’re not here for a haircut when we’re running our business. Okay, and I’ve watched this happen a lot of times with business owners, and you know, at the beginning of the day, people often walk in carrying heaps of mental clutter, scattered ideas, a bit of decision fatigue, like I don’t know what I’m doing, but by the end of the day, oh my god, so much clarity, so much structure, there’s excitement, the vibe is still high, and there’s direction, and I think you know not everything can get solved in a day, okay, but what happens is when you finally give yourself enough space to think properly and honestly, I think this is one of the most important things that modern business owners can do, and the business world, as you know, celebrates movement, where energy goes, momentum flows, you know, movement, momentum, growth, achievement, it goes where it flows, it flows where it goes.

Okay, so you put your energy into thinking of the big picture, okay, that’s where it goes, and I think that creates sustainable growth, which is something that I am definitely all about, and this is where I think your business will start to evolve more than what you think. Okay, and I see businesses doing that when they start to refine their positioning, their systems, and how they do things, what they’re offering, the way that they are showing up as a leader in their leadership skills, messaging the clarity around messaging and visibility, and also the direction that they’re moving, and that is the work that changes businesses, and there’s something really powerful about stepping away from your day and you’re, you know, your, your week, and mixing it up a little bit, and asking yourself, well, what am I actually building here? Okay, so, so funny.

I normally play with a hair tie when I record a podcast episode, and I’ve been looking for, and I’ve been playing with the case that my little adapter, this is so funny, we digress, but I’ve been playing with the case, my little adapter, you can hear it now, comes in, and I’ve been like distracted by the magnet shutting, which is, I got the better of me. So now I have a hair tie, and I just, I like to play with it while I talk, because it’s like, you know, I know that lots of people are going to be listening to this episode, but right now it’s just me, myself, and I, and so I need to have a bit of something to play with in my hands that I can just kind of talk away, and you know, talk to myself, but talk to you anyway.

We digress, but yes, this is the reality of, like, right now is like I’m just in, in my room, in my, in my studio, having a good old chat with myself, and you know, shouting out all my thoughts, and that’s quite nice, but I need something to just play with. I usually have a hair tie on my wrist, but it’s actually my hair, so if you’re watching this YouTube video, that’s where it is, and my hair is in a little top knot. So, anyway, you know, when you step away, I digress.

But when I was saying, when you step away from your desk, you can actually think about what you’re building, and what more specifically what you’re building, and what you want your business to look like in 12 months’ time, and what do you want your life to look like as a result of that? In 12 months’ time, and are you right now really aligned with that, or do you need to make changes to become aligned with where the business is going? Because if you are upskilling and up leveling and doing all the things for yourself to keep up with your qualifications in what it is that you do, but your business isn’t growing at the same speed. Then that’s a sign of a massive disconnect in months to come.

So, what feels expensive? What feels aligned? What is the next evolution of your brand? And those questions, my friend, create some serious transformation that feels amazing. And I think some of the biggest breakthroughs I’ve had in my own businesses, business and businesses, yes, I’ve had a few businesses have happened when I intentionally create space to think and step away to reflect to hear my own thoughts in my own head and reconnect with the vision that I actually have for my business and create some strategies to move forward, and you know, a space to lead my team differently, because I have a team, and you know, and that’s the reason why I created VIP days for myself, because for my clients like you, because I know how powerful they are, and these are high-level strategic working sessions for business owners in health space who know that their business is ready for a new level of clarity and a new level of being refined and a new level of growth, because what you, what you got you here is not going to get you there.

So, really, in the nitty gritty of it, we spend the day mapping out whatever it is that you want to work on, but usually it’s around positioning, it’s around offers, it’s around messaging in and around what it is that you sell, and a growth strategy to be able to move forward. And then, how are you marketing those things? What does your marketing ecosystem look like? How are you becoming visible? What kind of direction do you want your content to move in, and what kind of operational structure are you going to set up to be able to make these things work? What kind of leadership are you going to create inside your business ? How are you going to put your best foot forward?

Okay, so that the rest of the business can follow, and what is the next stage of the business? What does that look like, and honestly, I think that the transformations that happen in these days specifically are incredible, because business owners get to where you get to reconnect with your bigger vision, and you understand and reconnect with what that looks like in your business again, because we step away from that when we’re working in our business every day, and I think I see the shifts, and I see that that changes everything.

So, if you’ve been craving a bit of clarity, and if you’ve ready for more intentional growth, and if you know that your business is ready for its next evolution, which I’m sure that it is, or if you simply want the space to think bigger, be in a really high vibe environment, and lead differently, then this is your space. This is your reminder to create that space for strategic thinking for yourself, and this is one of the most absolute powerful investments that you can make inside your business, and that’s all I want to say.
